ASSOCIATION LAUNCHES 12TH DRAGON FUND TO BOOST PLAYING SQUAD.

Wrexham Supporters Association is launching a fund, which will raise money and increase the manager’s playing budget. The fund, named “The 12th Dragon”, will produce extra cash for Dean Saunders kitty, with all donations exclusively heading towards players salaries. The first donation will go towards signing a goalkeeper. Chairman Ian Roberts & Director Geoff Moss said “people can give money to the town’s football club, with full transparency, knowing where the money will be spent. If there are groups or individuals out there looking at arranging fund-raising events at any time to boost the 12th Dragon fund, then do not hesitate to contact the Association who will fully support and endorse it with the Football Club promising the backing of the playing staff too”

A delighted Dean Saunders added, “ The 12th Dragon is a wonderful opportunity for the fans to back their football club. Oxford and Mansfield have done it successfully and it will supplement the wonderful assistance I have received from many Dragons groups in my tenure and long may it continue. I hope the fans will buy into this new initiative, especially as my playing budget is much tighter this year. Support such as this is most welcome”

Donations can be made by cheque payable to Wrexham Supporters Association, or by completing the attached standing order authority to pay monthly, quarterly or annually. Please send either to me at the above address or hand in at the club shop. You can also donate on line by going to www.wrexhamfan.co.uk and click on donate. Wrexham Supporters Association will oversee the 12th Dragon funds.

The 12th Dragon is a great example of Wrexham F.C. and its fans working together and The Association is confident that this scheme can help the club in attracting new players and to develop the playing squad we have at The Racecourse. We have set ourselves a target of £40,000 and a thermometer will appear monthly in the programme to show progress. The Association feels that this is a fabulous way to really help the manager progress our club on the pitch and we would urge fans to support the initiative and donate as much as they can. Anything that helps Dean Saunders create a squad capable of challenging for promotion can only be good.

Financial help given to Wrexham F C over the years includes match sponsorship, payment of players wages, new seats in the stands, medical equipment, equipment for the grounds man, new carpet in the directors area, redecoration, sponsorship of players & team sheets and a donation to the School of Excellence.
